I grew up in North Idaho and took my first photography classes in the early 90s at North Idaho College. At the time, I dreamt of life as a National Geographic photographer–traveling to interesting places and photographing wildlife and unique cultures. This was also where I learned the reality of life as a professional photographer–99% sales and marketing, 1% photography. I knew that wasn’t going to work for me, so I pursued a degree in biology that would transition into a couple of graduate degrees and a full-time job as a college professor.
My love of photography never subsided and strengthened as I began taking photographs of my two children and our frequent summer travel. I guess that I wasn’t ready to give up the dream and recently started my own photography business, Scott Rollins Photography, LLC. I’m now in a unique position to take on photography assignments that really interest me and minimize the time I spend in marketing and sales.
If you’re looking for a photographer in the Inland Northwest, please contact me. I’d be happy to help you tell your story through photography.
